The National Capital History Day steering committee is gearing up for its info session for teachers this Friday, Dec. 5.
It’s not too late to join us — just email us for details!
In addition to showing teachers how they can get their classes involved in NCHD, we’ll also have some great prizes:
• Each teacher will receive a gift pack from Carleton University filled with handy resources and some fun swag
• One lucky teacher will receive a prize package courtesy of Legion Magazine — a gift box containing five of their special issues (a great classroom resource)
• We’ll also be having a draw for museum passes, courtesy of the Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum. The museums are also offering three copies of the Empress of Ireland exhibition catalogue, three copies of the 1867 Rebellion and Confederation exhibition catalogue and three copies of the Fighting In Flanders catalogue.
• And we’ll have some book prizes, too (history books, of course)
Thanks to all those organizations and individuals who are contributing to this great day of learning, sharing and building bridges for educators and their students from across the Ottawa region.
