It’s a new year and a new season for National Capital History Day — and we’re getting ready.
Many workshops are already booked, we will be putting out a call for judges early in the new year and student registration will open at the end of January.
What can you do to get ready?
Get started on your project — it’s definitely not too early to get things rolling.
Choose a category that suits your personality (Essay, Exhibit, Documentary, Website or Performance) and determine if you want work with a group of people or whether you’d prefer to enter as an individual. If you’re not sure which category is best for you, you can get some tips here.
And don’t forget to download a copy of this year’s rulebook here.
Make sure that your project is centred on this year’s theme, which you can learn about here. And once you’ve decided on an area of interest, click here to get some sample topics and how you could frame them for the contest.
Finally, make sure you’re ready for all the deadlines. You can double check all the important dates here.
And remember that if you have any questions, you can submit them via this website or send them to ottawahistoryday [at} gmail.com
Best of luck with all your project preparation and happy new year from all of us at National Capital History Day!
